“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.” ~ Plato

I am qualified to help you

I understand the importance of making sure I am qualified to help you. Here are my credentials to help you decide.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist.

I earned my Masters degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis in Licensed Professional Counseling.

Prior to returning to graduate college for counseling, I was in Education for more than 15 years. I have a Masters degree in Education Administration and a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education both from the University of Central Oklahoma.

I am grateful for all of my years in Education because it helps me understand more about children and teens from the educational standpoint in addition to human development and counseling.

I am a member of the following professional organizations: Association for Play Therapy.

Please let me know if you would like more information about me to help with your decision making.

If you do not think that I am the right counselor for you or your child, I would be happy to refer you to other counselors in the metro OKC area.

My approach to counseling

Each counselor is different which can be a good thing. In my opinion, the world would be extremely boring if each person was the same.

Since I work with tweens and teens, a counseling session will be different than it would be for an adult. I like to implement activities that tweens or teens might like such as games, art, music or other ways to express themselves without them staring at me and only talking to each other. When the session is relaxed and fun, it does not seem like counseling to them. However, work gets done in session without them realizing it. Shhh, don’t tell them my secret.
